My mom is a gifted seamstress and very creative. One of her latest obsessions is making placemat purses. As I was surfing the Internet this morning, I came across Small Fry and Co. and a super-easy tutorial for these purses, allowing me to take an ordinary (but cute!) placemat and turn it into this:
Perfect for spring!
I thought it was a great, quick project. The cost was minimal-a placemat that cost about $4 and some ribbon which I had on hand. (Gotta love projects that you can use your stash for!) I could quite easily become addicted.

I love what you (your mom) did with the placemat purse. I love the ribbon ruffle on the top. Thanks for linking.
That turned out so cute. The ruffle made it!
Oooh! Uber-cute! I am looking for a cute bag to tote ribbon & craft supplies to my "Girls Night" and this looks perfect. Thanks for the inspiration!
I think that is such a cute idea! Too bad my sewing machine is out of commission right now! My daughter would love a cute purse like that!
